The purpose of using Borax 5 Mol for autocausticizing is to reduce the
amount of lime that is required in the pulp-making process. Each ton of
Borax 5 mol that is used replaces up to 50 times the amount of lime that is
required. This results in lower costs and less waste produced that must be
disposed of. The usage of Borax 5 Mol also increases pulp products can
increase pulp production by 15%.
