A thin-film-transistor liquid-crystal display (TFT LCD) is a type of
liquid-crystal display that uses thin-film-transistor technology to improve
image qualities. TFT LCDs are used in television sets, computer monitors,
mobile phones, video game systems, and dashboards in automobiles. Borates are used in the manufacture of TFT-LCD displays by the formation of an aluminoborosilicate that is placed in the middle of glass sheets. The
borates are employed to act as a flux to control the viscosity and melting
temperature of the glass.
